It may be Monday morning, but I cannot stop smiling thinking about the dreamiest, pinkiest, loveliest baby shower that my family and friends threw for my sweet Baby Girl this past weekend.
I wanted to share with you all some of the highlights of the magical day.
First things first, my mom, aunt, sister, and best friend hosted the event at my mom's house, which also happens to be in the middle of a remodel. One could hardly tell because of the amazing decorating skills of my mother and aunt. because nothing, not even cardboard-covered floors get in the way of my creative family pulling off pure magic.
My gorgeous aunt teaches floral design to high school students and boy are they blessed to have her. Can we just marvel at these floating tea cups and the storybook center pieces that twirled elegantly throughout the day? Her genius and creativity cannot be outdone:
Every detail was accounted for from the gorgeous table setting & wall decor designed by my mother, the princess matching game created by my sweet grandmother, the cookies that were so exquisitely decorated that made them too beautiful to eat, yet also too delicious NOT to eat the entire tray. I think I had 3, but baby girl ate 7...oops.
But the thing that was far more delightful than the decadent ambience was the women in the room. Women, who have impacted my life greatly, friends, who have walked with me in elementary school, high school & college, teachers, who have bestowed such wisdom and grace, work colleagues and ministry volunteers, who have encouraged me in my dream of motherhood, mothers, who I have admired and hope to emulate, my mother in love, Nancy, who gave me the greatest gift of her son who is now my husband, my grandmothers, who have demonstrated unconditional love from day one, my auntie, who has never ceased to amaze me by her talent and strength, my sister, who has brought so much laughter and love to my life and will be the best auntie to baby girl, and finally my mom, who is a dream come true realized in a human being.
The love and support all of these women have lavished on me and sweet baby girl is something I cannot fully put into words, but it is felt at the bottom of my heart and tips of my toes. It's amazing what happens when we as women come together to celebrate and lift each other up. I pray that my sweet baby girl will grow up with such treasured friendships, mentors, and role models of women who love Jesus and live with such compassion and joy.
